AlwaysOn Cancels BreakOut Conference

AlwaysOn announced Friday they will be canceling BreakOut, citing that the conference was “outside [AlwaysOn's] typical event model” and saying it will roll it into their OnHollywood event in April.

Originally scheduled for December 15 -17 at the Beverly Hills Hotel & Bungalows, BreakOut was touted as a conference to discuss how entertainers were using technology to extend their personal brand. In explanation of canceling BreakOut, AlwaysOn stated that many of their regular sponsors and event attendees felt that BreakOut was “outside their critical business interests.” Ticket prices of $1,500 may have contributed to the lack of interest, given the current state of the economy.

Musician Will.i.am and web entrepreneur Julia Allison were among the guests expected to speak at the convention before its cancellation.
