Happy to announce that lalawag is now open. Please pardon our dust while we roll out the final tweaks and features. Some quick questions and answers to get us started:
So what is this all about?
Pretty simple, it’s not a secret that there’s a burgeoning tech scene here in Los Angeles. We want to document the tech events, share the tech stories, and everything in between, as created by the dynamic tech community. That being said we also want to cover the tech landscape wherever else it’s happening. Sure we will also cover rumors, after all that’s naturally what you want most.
Is this related to Gawker/Valleywag or just a rip off?
Just a rip off. If I’ve learned anything from the tech industry (and LA), it’s that there’s no reason to be original. Instead take an existing idea and do it better, or different. This site has no relation to Valleywag (although we are obviously fans) and, as a full disclosure, is not related to my work at Tsavo Media.
I think I got a good news story, what do I do?
Send anything you think is remotely interesting to tips@lalawag.com, we’ll handle the rest. Pictures, articles, links, tweets, rumors, overheard’s, events, parties, companies, products. If you think the LA tech community could benefit from knowing about it, we would love to hear about it. Anonymity, if requested, will be strictly enforced.
