- Hulu — the progeny of NBC Universal and News Corps — is now the 6th largest video site in just a little over 20 months, serving up 235 million videos in that time. How do they do it? - Yahoo is firing 1,500 employees right now in both their Sunnyvale and Santa Monica campus. Top management passed out crib notes to mid-level managers to help ease the passing. Oddly, they chose not to copy and paste the script from Mike Judge’s Office Space.
- Oh, Yahoo’s also closing Brickhouse — the skunkworks in San Francisco’s South Park neighborhood. Now’s a good time to woo some pretty good engineers down to sunny SoCal.
- The mobile porn industry is going to hit $2.2 billion worldwide. Sounds impressive, but it’s still 2.2% off from expectations. Adult-oriented mobile content is expected to be $4.9 billion by 2013.
