IMDb — an Amazon subsidiary and an indispensable Los Angeles face book — let loose that it has completed a purchase of Box Office Mojo — a site that chronicles the day by day box office take of newly released movies. Box Office Mojo is a 3-person company based out of Burbank, California, and has seen its traffic rise to 1 million unique visits a month since its founding in 1999 by movie analyst Brandon Gray.
