Patricia Handschiegel recently announced on her blog that her new start-up, 9, raised a small round of capital. The angel funding will be announced in a few weeks, and until then Patricia is keeping her lips sealed.
“I know revealing the money behind deals makes the story sexier but we just don’t like to kiss and tell, period.”
She stresses in her post that even if her PR gets turned down by bloggers because she wont reveal her sources early, she values her business relationships more than the exposure.
“If the media must know, 9 is doing good things. We’re also good at keeping secrets. It’s a competitive world. Our discretion is appreciated.”
9 is a consulting and content production start-up that helps brands, entertainment, media, internet and retail companies launch revenue-focused projects over broadband, broadcast or editorial (or all three). The company signed clients within a month after launching, is continuing to generate revenue, and has attracted the interest of some of the biggest companies in entertainment, media and internet business.
