The 1st Annual Streamy Awards

In December of 2009, Tubefilter announced that they would be teaming up with some of the industries best web video publications to bring you an awards ceremony that is one of a kind. The Streamys were born and are here to recognize outstanding achievement for shows produced originally for broadband distribution. Everyone was invited to nominate their favorite web series and there were 24 different categories to choose from. The only catch is that they had to have at least three installments that released in 2008.

The 1st Annual Streamy Awards are finally here and are taking place at the historic Wadsworth Theater in Los Angeles. This event is red carpet and should have lots of celebs to show off. They will be internet celebrities and therefore only recognizable by us internet geeks, but celebrity none the less. If you can’t make the event you can still participate in all of the fun, the ceremony will be streamed live via the live webcast on Streamys.org.

Voting is still open and you can cast one vote per day for your favorite show, up until March 28. Tickets are still available, click on the link below for more information.

Rumor has it Francisco Dao has some big plans in the works that involves him channeling Diddy and walking the red carpet to his own personal music choice. We hear that Mike Prasad will be accompanying him but not as his date, they actually have girls that agreed to go with them. And yes, they will be walking the red carpet for all the world to see. Let’s hope Francisco left the spandex at home for this event.
