A few days ago I saw Demi Moore tweet about how many followers her hubby Ashton Kutcher was amassing. When I saw that he had almost 800,000 followers it occurred to me that someone would be hitting the one million follower mark soon, maybe even him. I immediately jumped on to Twitterholic to see who was leading the way in followers. To my surprise, Ashton was in second place behind CNN. Seriously?

The next day Ashton sent out a tweet and a made the following video to not only thank his followers but to put out a challenge to CNN. Ashton claims he will “ding dong ditch” Ted Turner’s house if he gets to one million followers before CNN.

Then came the tweets from Julia Allison and Perez Hilton trying to get their fans to help them raise more followers:

Today the friendly feud started to really heat up when Larry King made this rebuttal video for Ashton, basically explaining to him that Ashton has no chance in beating CNN and that the network will bury him. He vowed to take Ashton on during his show or in a Twitterbattle and even started his own Twitter account @kingsthings

Ashton rounded off the day saying that in addition to the ding dong ditching–which, by the way, Perez Hilton had no idea what it meant–Ashton would also buy 1,000 bed nets on April 25 for World Malaria Day through http://www.malarianomore.org. I can’t imagine where this will go next.

To follow online, make sure you are watching the tweets of @aplusk @mrskutcher @kingsthings. Someone will hit the million follower mark soon, who do you think it will be?
