Ford: Film Or Retweet Daily

Most of the time our tip line sits quietly in the background just waiting for juicy gossip to roll in. No matter how much we encourage you, most of you don’t want to dish on the people in our community. We have decided to look at this as a positive thing, though it does make running a gossip rag a bit challenging. Thankfully there are a bunch of LA peeps ready and willing to share with us the cool things that are going on all around us, like our latest tip about the Ford Fiesta Movement.

The Fiesta Movement is a campaign that gives Ford Fiesta vehicles to 100 drivers, which they call agents. The agents are supposed to complete monthly themed missions that they film and post to YouTube. They are also encouraged to use Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and their own blogs to promote the movement.

This month’s theme is technology and Ford has some pretty entertaining challenges lined up, with missions that involve the Will it Blend blender, Wii Fit and even the U.S. Military.

  • Will It Blend - Take Ford Fiesta car parts to Will it Blend to be destroyed.
  • E3 – Report live from E3.
  • Panasonic Toughbook – Indestructible? Put your new Panasonic Toughbook to the test.
  • LEGOLAND - Join in the celebration of LEGO Star Wars Days at LEGOLAND.
  • US Military – Participate in a Marine raid with the US Military.
  • NASA - Go behind the scenes at NASA.
  • Pandora – Head to a live concert and learn how Pandora captures the music.
  • Sirius Radio - Go behind the scenes at the NY Studios.
  • OMGPOP! – Visit the offices of OMGPOP.com to find out how to build and play a social game.
  • Segway - Take a Segway tour of San Francisco and show us around. (Also touring DC and Chicago)
  • Rock Band – Host a Rock Band party and make a music video.
  • Analog - Collect as many old tech gadgets as you can find.
  • Tweet for Food – Make your way through an entire day relying on Twitter pals for food money.
  • SkyMall - Choose 3 items out of the SkyMall catalog to buy and review.
  • Geocaching – Engage in geocaching to find treasures and leave some of your own.
  • Wii Fit - Try the Wii Fit for 2 weeks and see how much weight you lose.
  • Kindle – Teach a class of kids about Kindles and read a story together.
  • Spykee Robot- Use an Erektor Spykee robot to spy on a friend at work.

Most of the missions are currently in progress but video should be up on the site soon. We noticed a few of our friends and fellow LA tech folk are participating in the challenge: Natasha Wescoat, Jonathan Nafarrete, Rigel Celeste, Jeremy Tanner and the one and only Allison Haislip from our favorite show on G4!

Follow them on Twitter to keep up with the movement or search hashtag #fiestamovement

Good luck everyone!
