Today we lost one of the most iconic pop stars, Michael Jackson. It was a bit confusing on the interwebz at first, whether he was in a coma or actually dead, but that’s what happens when rumors start flying. Literally every tweet that was going out in my Twitter stream during the hour prior to the confirmed announcement of his death, was about MJ his family or his condition.
It got me thinking about the role he played in my life. I remember being a little girl dancing around to my thriller record, singing along happily and trying to emulate the dance moves. I watched Moonwalker a million times and thought he was so cool. Over the years his music continued to be great while his personal appearance got a bit, well strange.
Through accusations and crazy lawsuits I have still held a special place in my heart for MJ. He made many of my tween years fun and continues to inspire people to create and have fun with his music, even if it wasn’t his intention.
So here they are, a few of my favorite MJ inspired videos. Hope you enjoy. I will forever hold a special place in my heart for you MJ, right next to Elvis.
