Roadtrips: TechCrunch August Capital

If you’re not familiar with the annual August Capital summer party thrown by mega-blog TechCrunch, it’s known as one of, if not THE tech event of the year. Set on the plush patio of August Capital Investments, several hundred entrepreneurs, bloggers, and VCs converge in a sea of blue shirts and khaki pants.

This all takes place on the famous Sand Hill road, a street lined with dreams and tears of the entrepreneurs who built any cool website, ever. I went there once and I’m pretty sure the visit made me invincible. Yes, the street is just that powerful.

So look for our coverage starting Thursday night as we drive up to the bay. Yes, we are actually road tripping this one, speeding up north thanks to fine German engineering. There is also a good chance we’ll be over-sharing all the way via our Twitter and Qik accounts.

For the drive I’m bringing lalawag’s own editrix Laurie Percival and our official muse AV Flox. Other LA folks making the trip include media empress Shira Lazar and LAWeekly’s Alexia Tsotsis. So basically a bunch of overly attractive females and me.

Rumor has it Francisco Dao is also making an appearance. And while he doesn’t look as hot in a dress as some of these ladies, he does always manage to entertain.

Finally, we’ll be covering the Real Time CrunchUp on Friday, a great conference that offers more real time web goodness than 10 Scobles.
