Inside the Jet Propulsion Laboratory

California has a lot of nice things. Nice weather, nice looking women, oh and some serious technology! No I’m not talking tech like the usual boring web startups that are basically a less interesting version of Twitter. I’m talking about the real tech baby. Stuff with science and lasers!

I was lucky enough to see such tech at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL if you’re nasty) in Pasadena today. Thanks to local secret agent George Ruiz who arranged the field trip for several of us.

Here is what we found:

Xeni Jardin of Boing Boing at the alter of Jobs.

The stars and logos.

From the observation deck.

This thing actually has more parts than my Audi, barely.

Scientists!

The crew.

Geek last supper.

Messing around with an Infrared Camera.

This is what I look like, unsurprising my hair still looks good. See the other folks IR photos here.
