The organizers behind Twiistup have added a new segment to the growing brand. Not only are they expanding by having a start-up summit in NY, they made an announcement earlier this week about The Retreat.
The Retreat is like a nod back to when business was being done on the golf course. Instead of sitting in a conference room you would get out on the green with your client, have a few beers and make your deals under the sun. According to the announcement, The Retreat is an exclusive executive level event that will be invite only. Those wishing to attend will need to apply and only 85 will be selected out of applications.
Talking place at a 5 star/5 diamond resort in Dana point, attendees days will be filled with catered meals, golf, sailing and activities that allow you to develop and foster relationships with the other participants. The three-day event will be Co-hosted by David Hornik of August Capital and Andy Sack of the Founder’s Co-op. Some of the most proven investors and entrepreneurs will be invited to mix and mingle with up and coming players. With only the creme de la creme of startup tech being selected, that one on one time in an open atmosphere will be extremely valuable.
More VIP hosts will be announced shortly, while many of the specific details, including price and exact location, will only be released to applicants. The Retreat takes place from Jun 16-18, 2010. If you’d like to attend you need to get your application in by the end of May. Apply here.
