Twitter has been on a hiring spree lately, and their latest big catch is Adam Bain, formerly the President of the Fox Audience Network, where he was overseeing the monetization for MySpace, IGN and other News Corp. digital outlets. With this switch in employment, Bain will become the President, Revenue over at Twitter, reporting directly to Dick Costolo, COO of the company.

Bain has an excellent track record of monetizing online digital properties. According to sources reporting to TechCrunch, News Corps.’ self-service advertisements are generating hundreds of millions in annual revenue for the company. There was even a plan in the works to spin-off the Audience Network into a separate entity, but the deal never came through.

Now, Bain will get a chance to build another digital property into a profitable revenue stream. While Twitter has already set up a couple of small advertising programs thus far, the company has plans to ramp up revenue – and quickly.
