The First Twitter-Fueled Car Race

It seems like today everyone is looking for new ways to fuel their cars. Well, now you can use Twitter for more than news and entertainment; you can fuel your car with tweets (sort of)!

GotCast and Mercedes-Benz are holding the first ever tweet-fueled race. Four teams of two will be outfitted with nothing more than a Mercedes-Benz, two tickets to the Super Bowl, and the unyielding desire to tweet. The tweets earn participants fuel for the car. All you have to do is drive. And tweet (but not as the same time- hands at ten and two!) Teams will set out from four destinations (Los Angeles, New York, Tampa, and Chicago) and tweet their way to Dallas, performing social media challenges along the way.

The four teams have three days to make it to Dallas for the big game. If your team brings in the highest social score, you’ll be taking home an all new 2012 C-Class Coupe. That’s right; your love of social media can earn you a new car and two tickets to the biggest football game of the year. And then you can tweet to all of your friends how much cooler you are than them.

Think you have what it takes to win the keys to the Benz? Put your social media savvy skills to the test. Pick a partner and sign up here. Also, don’t forget to follow @MBTweetRaceHQ on Twitter to find out if you advance to the next round. Come on, you spend all your time on Twitter anyway! Why not win some stuff?
