Over the past week or so, the Dropbox team has been running a little online game called “Dropquest.” It’s a 30 step online scavenger hunt/mystery that rewards you with some extra storage space (up to 1GB) for your Dropbox account as you complete each step. It’s actually quite fun if you’re into puzzle solving and internet sleuthing. (Those of us who are good Facebook Stalkers will feel right at home here.) Don’t worry if it sounds too intense, though. Dropquest doesn’t require any coding experience; you just have to be good at observing, manipulating URLs, and using search engines.
The Lalawag team has been big fans of Dropbox since its inception. I mean, who doesn’t love free cloud-based storage that lets you share files with your friends? If you’re not using it yet, we heartily recommend it as it’s definitely made our lives a lot easier. You can sign up for Dropbox here.
If you’ve already got an account, head on over to this link to get started with Dropquest. While you won’t be able to win any one of the big prizes at this stage of the contest, you will still be able to get that 1GB of extra storage space for completing the game. You’d better get started soon, though, as the last day to reap the rewards will be this coming Saturday.
Now, we realize that many of you are busy people and can’t be bothered to spend the time to figure out the questions on your own. That shouldn’t preclude you from getting that sweet 1GB bonus, though, so we’ve compiled a few links in ascending order of “spoiler level” to help you out:
