No Microsoft tablet OS until 2012
Microsoft won’t be challenging Apple and Google with a new tablet operating system until late next year. A Bloomberg report that cited people with knowledge of the company’s plans said that the software giant won’t release a Windows operating system tailored especially for tablets “until the 2012 back-to-school season.” Testing with partners and customers is not expected to begin until the end of the year, the report said.
This isn’t exactly good news for the company that dominates the PC market but is struggling to break into the surging market that is already dominated by Apple’s iOS. The Apple iPad 2 was unveiled last week, and the Motorola Xoom, the first tablet sporting Google’s new Honeycomb OS, was released to consumers last month.

Mobile editing in Google Docs now in 45 languages
Google has announced through its Mobile Blog that Google Docs is now in 45 languages. Back in November of last year, Google launched the ability to edit mobile documents in English. Now users can edit in Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian – and forty other languages.
To begin editing, users should visit docs.google.com in their mobile browser, and select a document to edit. Switch from view to edit mode by pressing ‘Edit’ to turn on the mobile editor and start typing away. Mobile editing is available on Android (2.2+) and iOS (version 3.0+) devices.
