You know how the old saying goes: “Behind every successful entrepreneur is a great iTunes playlist.”

I may or may not have just made that saying up, but nevertheless, music is one of the most important muses anyone has no matter what industry they are in. Mashable has cajoled some tech luminaries (including people from Foursquare, StumbleUpon, MTV, OKCupid, and more) to share their top ten songs in their playlists. The results are interesting, to say the least.

Some of the trends I noticed were that tech entrepreneurs really liked the new Radiohead album, King of Limbs. Personally, I thought it was one of Radiohead’s weaker efforts, but it does have that nice “white noise” quality that lets you listen to it while barreling ahead in productivity.

Other than that, they seemed to have nice eclectic mix of tastes on the whole ranging from Van Halen to Frank Sinatra to Yeasayer to Jay-Z. Of course, there’s always exceptions to the rule and the one exception this case is Steve Martocci from GroupMe’s playlist.

I believe it speaks for itself:

I believe Mr. Martocci would be what they call a “Little Monster.”

You can check out the other playlists here.

What songs are you listening to these days?
