Got Errands? Get Someone Else To Do Them For You.

Today, self-proclaimed ‘service networking’ startup TaskRabbit announced the launch of a brand new iPhone app. The site is essentially like a combination Craigslist and social network. Users post tasks they need to get done, and ‘TaskRabbits’ that live nearby offer to do them — for a small fee of course. The site handles background checks on the errand runners and facilitates payments between the folks who need their laundry folded and the folks doing the folding.

Currently based in just a few cities, including Los Angeles and Orange County, TaskRabbit is clearly expanding and their new app is a step in the right direction. According to their blog post “TaskPosters can now post their Tasks in just a few seconds – without typing a single word. So, for all you busy folks on the go who need help getting things done, I’m proud to say, “There’s an app for that!”

The TaskRabbit App helps busy iPhone and iPod Touch users post Tasks wherever and whenever they need a TaskRabbit’s help – walking down the street, in the car, from the subway, or at their kid’s soccer game. The iPhone’s GPS, camera, and voice recording capabilities make posting and describing Tasks on the TaskRabbit service network super easy.”

And, it seems Angelenos are already hopping over to the service. Tasks currently posted in the LA area include “deliver 2 gallons of paint from mid-Wilshire to Los Feliz” , “Purchase and pick up small futon advertised on Craigslist” and “Organize receipts by data and credit card.”
