Free Redbox Rentals Coming To A Kiosk Near You

This Thursday, video rental service Redbox is giving away free movie nights to anyone who ‘likes’ the brand on their Facebook page.

The Illinois-based company has over 27,000 kiosks located in grocery stores, restaurants and other venues around the country. And, all day on August 25, anyone who likes the company on Facebook will receive a code good for a free rental at any of those kiosks. Existing fans can also get the code from the site’s Facebook page, and users also have the option to send a free rental code to a friend as well.

Redbox has 50 locations within 50 miles of Los Angeles. At the moment, the company’s #1 rental in the Hollywood zip code is Limitless, with the sci-fi thriller Priest coming in at number two. The top rental in Santa Monica is also Limitless, but the number two spot in Santa Monica goes to the comedy Arthur. No word yet on whether the influx of Facebook likers is going to ratchet up the current 3.5/5 rating The Social Network is currently sporting on the site.
