Hollywood Gets A Silicon Injection

at 2:11pm Nov 9, 2011

Hollywood is about to get a whole lot more Silicon…Valley, thanks to a new monthly networking event.

Starting this Thursday at Room 86 in Hollywood, the aptly-named Hollywood Meets Silicon Valley event aims to bring together folks from the entertainment and tech industries, for networking and more.

According to their website, “Hollywood meets Silicon Valley is a brand new monthly event for some of both Hollywood and Silicon Valley’s biggest names in both tech and media to discuss the convergence of the two industries and spark business relationships.”

Event organizer Hermione Way of The Next Web seconded that sentiment, saying “The reason I am setting this up is because there is massive convergence between the two industries and I want to do an event to connect the two and spawn innovation through relationships.”

The startup event is sponsored by some established names in tech, including The Next Web, Coloft, What’s Trending, Mobile Roadie, Newspepper and Knock Twice. It kicks off at 7pm and you can reserve your free tickets here.
