AT&T Upgrades LAX, Just In Time For Holiday Travel

at 6:29pm Nov 20, 2011

Travelers destined for LAX this holiday season are getting a gift — the gift of better wifi, courtesy of AT&T.

LAX serves close to 2 million passengers during the Thanksgiving holiday. In order to make sure all those folks can check email, chat and surf the web without interruption, AT&T has expanded its wireless coverage to provide more capacity in heavy traffic areas like baggage checks and security checkpoints.

In a press release, an AT&T spokesman said the increased capacity will provide better coverage and more reliable access to data for its traveling customers.

“LAX is an economic engine for Greater Los Angeles and an AT&T priority,” AT&T’s VP & General Manager For The Greater Los Angeles Region, Andy Shibley said. “We recognize the importance of making a good first impression with millions of visitors and keeping them connected is our top priority.”
