“I have not failed 10,000 times. I have successfully found 10,000 ways that will not work.”

-Thomas Edison

I used to work for Jason at Docstoc.

So I can tell you that like many entrepreneurs, he is both brilliant and sometimes wrong. In fact doing things wrong and making mistakes is a very big part of the startup game. Those that are lucky (or smart), leapfrog some of these commons mistakes by learning from others. If you’d like to do the same, now is your chance.

In partnership with Dealmaker Media, Jason is offering free seminars to professionals in the technology field every month in 09. The next titled “Mistakes People Make Before Starting a New Business” is free and offers a presentation by Jason (embeded below) and Q&A session.

Here are all the details:

  • When: Thursday, January 15, 2008 - 6:30pm - 8:00pm
  • Where: Santa Monica Public Library 601 Santa Monica Blvd. Santa Monica, CA 90401
  • How Much: FREE!
  • RSVP:  Via Dealmaker Media

I’ve been meaning to check out these sessions. Now that I live only a few blocks away, no reason for missing out.

mega post and f**king sick powerpoint. I didn’t know CEO’s were allowed to talk that way ;o) @ 1st slide, i always spread ideas and knowledge around, heck first to market is usually first to fail and if your idea is good the market will demand stability and ubiquity and you’ll probably become part of a larger network, ie Tom’s of Maine ’sold out’ to Colgate to some, but to me it was what the market or at least me wanted–natural tooth paste at every supermarket and drug store.

They should be allowed to talk that way, and I’m glad they do. The world would be better if CEOs said whatever they wanted using whatever language they wanted.
