Stealing embassy documents, assassinating dimplomats, it’s all in a day’s work in the world of Spymaster. I’ve been playing consistantly since the launch late Thursday night (May 28th) and have finally made it to the top level, 30. Not sure how to proceed in the game at this point I decided to use my newly aquired skills to break into the headquarters of ilist.com and get some insider information. Here’s what I found out:
- Once you hit level 30 things get a lot harder and more expensive. Collaboration with your fellow Spymasters is the only way to really progress and you need to concentrate on assassinations.
- Soon the levels will be expanded and a new attack or defense item will be added on nearly every level up. These will come at a lofty price ranging from $40k to $20million, which will buy you a private jet or the most expensive in-game safe house.
- Levels 31 through 40 are going to be out in the next few days and will require a lot of collaboration. The number of spymasters in your ring directly relates to to your progress in these elite levels. Some of the tasks in these levels also have the chance of killing you in one shot, so you must proceed with caution.
- The game will be expanding to other platforms as well. An iPhone app is in the works, as well as Facebook Connect features.
- Ganging up on people is the way to go. It is extremely difficult to “kill” another spymaster on your own. When someone is killed they lose any items not in the safe house and are out of the game for 15 minutes. The developers are working on building more features into the game to support this type of collaborative play.
So it looks like forming groups or agencies is the way to go. If you currently run a group, let us know in the comments. I’d love to “collaborate” and kill people with you. Until then I’ll just be cruising around in my armored Audi looking for easy targets.
