Here is something perfect for ego driven Los Angeles, Twithority.
It returns Twitter search results from the top 10,000 users based on total amount of followers. For those looking for “mavens” or “influencers” or <insert latest buzz word>, this is a great way to find them.
The new site came out of a recent Techmeme started here by Loic Le Meur, founder of video conversation site Seesmic. He wants to search Twitter with the option to sort by number of followers. A lot of people complained, and the whole thing has generally been beat into the ground (and them some).
However! I was curious how this would work, so I asked our Special Project Secret Agent Ryan Sit to give it a shot. From there Twithority was born, a new way to search the top 10,000 Twitter users.
What are your thoughts? Is this useful to you? Or just another twitter piggy back service?
