Next Wednesday, the people from Scripped.com are teaming up with the UCLA Anderson School of business to bring you Hollywood 2.0. We’ve been told this event will be a wonderful opportunity to hear from a few leaders in the new media, and traditional media spaces. The distinguished panelists will be discussing the future of the Hollywood studio system in light of sites like Youtube, Hulu and Break gaining ground in the mass-market. They will focus on the future of the studio system with the rise in digital media outlets for both aspiring, and established artists. The crowd will be a mix of students from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and UCLA Film School and other LA-Area media entrepreneurs.
Due to the timing of the event, they will be having their mixer at the beginning of the evening. At first I thought this might be a sneaky tactic to get attendees to drink less, but they assure us it has to do with timing and that they will not be stopped from finding a way for everyone to drink. The reception should be a great opportunity to network with the broad array of over 400 people who have already RSVP’d for the event. Lalawag will be in attendance with front row seats, fancy!
